Henrique Casinhas, was born in Sintra, Portugal, in 1986.

He graduated in Graphic Design, but soon he was attracted by the world of photography, initially focused on Surfing and Bodyboarding.

In 2008 becomes a freelance photographer and in 2016, decides to specialize in the field of photojournalism.
At the end of the specialization, he was invited to join the Canon Student Program, which took place in France, during the Visa Pour l’Image festival.

Since then he has collaborated with several national and international newspapers, as well as international image banks, stand out, among others, National Geographic, Observador, Público, Eco.pt, Champions Journal, Telegraf, Paris Match, BBC News, Jornal As, Reuters, Sopa Images and Getty Images.

In recent years, he has been a finalist in the World Sport Photography Awards, with several Honourable Mentions and two second places (Urban & Extreme category in 2023 and Aquatic category in 2025).
